Fantasy Football in Full Swing!

Tonight Episode Sleven premiered on CTV-11 -- it will repeat each of the next two or three weeks (Wed. at 8 pm), or until we shoot another G.G. episode. This one was a lot of fun and, though it came in at 40 minutes, well short of the hour, it is funnier than some of the previous ones, I think.

Anway, week one I went 2-3 in my 5 head-to-head fantasy football leagues, and finished 14 out of 20 in my other league. Rather than describe each of the leagues, I'll give you a link if you want to check them out:

AWFL - the granddaddy of my leagues, we moved to mfl this season - my team is the Devil's Rejects.

LVFL - my other local league - I'm Team Ennui.

NFFF - 16 team dynasty league in its 11th season - I'm an original owner - the Philadelphia Freedom.

HUDL - a brother league to the NFFF - I'm the Green Bay Freeze.

DLFL - an ESPN league - I'm the Wisconsin GrislySquirrels. This league originated on the Dynasty League Football website.

Season IV - yes, six seasons and they don't have a league name yet! We're the Boondock Saints. I'm a new owner, co-owning with my brother Herm, and I like the 20 team dynasty auction format so far.

As for meineymoe productions... it's just been the Gridiron Geeks, and maybe another 48 Hour movie competition - the theme for October 13-15 is Spirits and Specters...

I guess I can handle one post a month, considering the nature of this blog...

well, Aaron wants to get on the computer, so I'll keep this short.

In the 48 hour movie competition we got another 3rd place finish, this time for our crime story "Blood on the Tiles". The title was inspired by "Snakes on the Plane", and yes, we did have blood, and it was on the tiles. We got some very good reviews, but the movie also had some dark and uncomfortable scenes, which may have resulted in us not doing as well as we'd hoped. Next time I think I'll just stick to fart jokes or something.

Also, Dan and I ripped off two Gridiron Geeks episodes the last week of July, and will do one more this week - the three episodes will each air twice (Wednesdays at 8 pm on CTV 11) before the opening of the NFL season. The Episodes are QB projections, RB projections, and WR/TE projections, with a little discussion on kickers and defense. The first three episodes, Rules is Rules, Draft Day, and The Rookies, will be showing at random times throughout the month as well, such as Saturdays at noon.

So what have you done lately?

Well, it's been nearly a month since the last post, so let me tell you what Meineymoe Productions has been up to: ZILCH.

But fear not, we haven't given up the boat. After an all-too-quiet June (though there were good intentions), plans are in the making. Here are the projects that we will be doing in July:

July 14-16 -- CTV's 48 hour movie competition!
the theme is crime story, and I've got a doozy bouncing around in my head.

Gridiron Geeks -- Dan has his QB analysis ready to go, so we just need to set the taping time. More positional shows to come after that, once we get the ball rolling.

Angel Time -- we've postponed a couple of times, but I want to whip these out in July so Judy (my wife) can start getting air time -- the exposure really helps her business!

Bobstockumentary

I spent Saturday of Memorial Day weekend at Bobstock, Art's annual tribute to Bob Dylan. I brought my camera, took a few random shots and some interviews, so now it's on to the editing process. This one could take awhile - I gotta sort out what was said.

Anyway, thanks, Art, for all the help. I'll get you in the editing booth with me too for some of it.

In other meineymoe production news, Gridiron Geeks Episode III: 2006 rookies, should hit the airwaves May 31. Check in Wednesday at 8 pm on CTV 11! (again, assuming you have Eau Claire Charter Cable).

Free Time

you're probably saying to yourself "where does he get all those wonderful video production skills?"

Well, I'll tell you where I learned the bulk of my technical knowledge - volunteering at the Public Access Channel -- see the top link to the right----->>

So far, I've learned camera work, inline editing (Adobe Premiere software), and studio production, and as an added perk, I get into things free. For instance, I'll be at the Eau Claire Express home opener on Saturday, June 3, following the bouncing ball with a CTV camera. Then on Thursday of Sawdust City Days I'll be wandering the grounds interviewing random fair-goers and vendors.

The best thing is that all this stuff is so easy, and the rewards are plentiful. And all it costs is a little time - and I've got plenty of that!

So come on down - the friendly staff will put you to work and make you feel right at home.

Gridiron Geeks

The second episode of Gridiron Geeks aired on CTV 11 this evening, and I have to say I was very pleased. Even though I shot and edited it, I still sat through it and found it entertaining. Andy in the Memoirs of a Geeka sketch is hilarious.

Last night, I shot some short skits with my gaming group - Kurt has a show, Game Geek, on CTV Thursdays at 6:30 - called Fantasy Football the Role Playing game. It was a hoot - I'll be including them in the third episode.

Speaking of the 3rd episode, I'm still looking for perhaps one more segment - though I'm sure I can stretch Dan's and my segment. I'll be getting trained in studio production tomorrow, so maybe we can start shooting some of the shows down at Banbury Place.

Anyway, thanks to all who have contributed so far. I'm looking forward to working with you as the football season approaches - yes, I'm serious about doing a weekly show, and I always need on air talent and ideas.

Here is something to comment on: What would you like to see on TV? I could make it come true...

1. Philosopher's corner - a panel discussing various passages from historic texts
2. Bedtime Stories - me and guests reading children's books, using voices, acting them out, etc (hey, my kids used to love this!)
3. Ambidexterous - I get a couple right-wing friends and a couple left-leaners, and we discuss current events.
4. Bobstock documentary - Art's 3rd annual Bobstock is coming up, it's an event worth chronicling.
5. A cult movie preview show - c'mon Mike, you know you want to! or a music show, doesn't matter...

don't worry, Gridiron Geeks isn't going away, we'll still be doing the fantasy football show. We're also deciding what kind of format to have for Judy's show - probably a combination of talk show with local healers, and her workshop snippets.

And as always, I'm open to suggestions. Of course, if you suggest it, I'll make you work on the show as well! -oo-

Gridiron Geeks is a huge success. At least, Troy said three people told him they saw him on tv last night...

anyway, tune into Channel 11 on Wednesdays at 8 pm (assuming you live in Eau Claire Wisconsin and you have Charter Cable).

so far we have two episodes to air in May - Rules Is Rules, and Fantasy Draft Day. I'll be filming Episode 3: 2006 NFL Rookies, in a couple of weeks. I'm looking for people who want to do more, such as writing and filming and editing, but for now I haven't totally burned out on doing all of it.

no need to look for an archives - I decided to hit the ground running here rather than giving the obligatory "this is my first post" drivvel (Oh, crap, I just did it, didn't I)

I'm not all that savvy, so don't know if I'll have any fun pictures or links for you, at least until I become more comfortable with the technology. but if it will please you, I can go change the color of the layout here. (Nah, just kidding, I'm too lazy to do even that for you)

Anyway, this blog will be dedicated to discussing Meineymoe productions - meaning anything that you'd like to see thrown onto the public access channel. Or if you'd like to host a show (Andy? Mike? Art?) I'd gladly put it on CTV under my flag.
